The pew edition of Lutheran Service Book is supported by a number of companion editions. Of greatest importance to the pastor is the LSB Altar Book. The Altar Book contains significant resources that assist the pastor in leading corporate worship.
All of the services from the pew edition are included in the Altar Book. These services are supplemented by additional rubrics and instructions intended to assist the pastor in leading the services.
Also included are the complete propers for both the three- and one-year lectionaries, as well as the lectionary for the Feasts, Festivals, and Occasions. These propers include Introits, Graduals, and Verses. The Collect of the Day is also included, formatted in “sense lines” for ease of reading.
