The update for Lutheran Service Builder to version 1.05 has been released through the automatic update service. If you have not already received the update, Builder will prompt you to do so next time you run it. If your Internet connection does not allow you to use the automatic update service, you may download the update as a standalone installer by clicking the following link:
Download the Update
Through either method, this update is approximately 68 megabytes in size. Users on a dial-up connection are encouraged to seek out a high-speed Internet connection to download the update. Once downloaded, the update can be saved to disk or to removable media (like a flash drive) and installed on any workstation with a previous version of Lutheran Service Builder.
Do not install the update twice. If you attempt to install the update on a workstation that has already been upgraded to 1.05, the Install will prompt you to uninstall Builder. Do not agree to do so. If you think that you do not have the update installed and are receiving this message, please call Support for assistance.

The following changes have been made to Lutheran Service Builder from version 1.03:
- The Installer has been reworked significantly in order to protect users during the installation and updating process. It no longer moves the user database before making changes to its structure when needed. Previously, a cancellation of the update routine without waiting for it to complete presented a small window - on the order of a few seconds - in which a user could corrupt their stored services and elements. This is no longer possible.
- The service list in the Calendar step now proposes all default services - based on your Service Times defined for each Location.
- Service Times can now be adjusted to account for Advent and Lenten midweek services. Users will still have to select an adjacent occasion in the Church Year to plan those services.
- Searching for hymns and sorting those results has seen a speed increase.
- The hymn search controls in the Content step now present a button that pre-fills the Scriptural search with the assigned readings for that occasion.
- Lutheran Service Builder now stores its configuration data in an .ini file instead of in the Windows Registry. This will greatly enhance troubleshooting and provide better customer support.
- Lutheran Service Builder can now detect and repair errors in the database schema upon its launch. It will add database tables that are expected but do not appear in the user/system databases.

- Some fixes have been implemented to assist those users who wish to use a System Font Size setting higher than 96 DPI. This is still a fix in progress.
- The user database update script now executes a backup operation before making changes to the database. This will safeguard the database from accidental deletion and errors in the installation and updating routine.
- The error logfile placed in the Builder installation directory is now limited to only the last 21 days of operation.
We expect that this update will cure many of the issues our users are experiencing, going back all the way to version 1.01. Lutheran Service Builder Support encourages those users who are still experiencing issues to contact the Support phone number or e-mail at lsbsupport@cph.org.
