	Numbering at 636, the hymns in Lutheran Service Book span the centuries of Christendom. In addition to hundreds of familiar hymns included in previous hymnals, fresh expressions of the Gospel are represented in over 100 hymns that are new to our hymnal.

Will pre-recorded versions of the music in Lutheran Service Book be made available on CD and/or DVD for use in congregations without music resources?

Lutheran Service Builder will include previews of hymn melodies for individuals to review during worship planning. Introductory CDs will also be made available to introduce the contents of LSB. However, at this point in time, the technology to be used to support congregations without organs or organists has not yet been determined. Upon completion of the primary editions of LSB, a survey will be conducted to determine which form of technology will best serve the largest numbers of parishes lacking musical resources or personnel.
